An advocate of Blackness and an aspiring journalist
Hello readers, my name is Paige Hawkins, and welcome to my new safe space where my words hold passage to my most inner thoughts, beliefs, dreams, and my identity. Born and raised in Detroit, the eighteen years I spent in my beloved city gifted me with the essence of life, love, and being. I have grown to understand that my vulnerabilities aren't my weakness, but my drive. From being bullied, trying to put back the broken pieces from relationships with kin to enduring one of the ugliest cruelties of the world, racism, all through high school, and from recently attending my illustrious HBCU and discovering my Black identity, I now know passionately that my voice has power and through my words, I can with ease convey my thoughts and emotions.
My Blog, Turning Paige's, is the beginning of my journey towards my hopes and aspirations as a world-renowned journalist while sharing my experiences as a Black woman in this bittersweet world. I invite you to explore and witness the manifestation of my dreams as I Turn some new pages.
